The spinning top as such is probably one of the oldest known children's toys of our time - so it is actually a must for every nostalgic person and collector. It is always fascinating to see how the colours and pictures become one hypnotic mishmash of colours - you can really lose yourself in it. It also has a calming effect, so even is the movement and colourfulness until the speed decreases and it comes to a standstill.
This spinning top in particular shows a circus scene with clowns, acrobats and other trained animals. We can't say whether the whole crew doesn't get dizzy while spinning; at least they make an amused impression! You set it in motion according to the principle of the humming top, i.e. by means of a metal rod with a thread that is stuck in the top itself. You move it up and down so that it gains speed - you can let go of this at some point and it spins away.
